This service is updated annually to contain the most currently released American Community Survey (ACS) 5-year data from the the U.S. Census Bureau, and contains estimates and margins of error. Rhode Island Division of Statewide Planning calculated two fields for this dataset. The first dataset was Population whose income in the past 12 months is 2.00x and under (200% or more of) the federal poverty level. This was done by calculating the following: Total Population for whom Poverty Status is Determined - Population whose income in the past 12 months is 2.00x and over (200% or more of) the federal poverty level = Population whose income in the past 12 months is under 2.00x (200% or more of) the federal poverty level.

The second calculation performed by RIDSP was the Percent of Population whose income in the past 12 months is 2.00x and under (200% or more of) the federal poverty level. This was done by the following: (Population whose income in the past 12 months is under 2.00x (200% or more of) the federal poverty level / Total Population for whom Poverty Status is Determined)*100.
